Year 10 Parents’ Evening yesterday

Thank you to Year 10 parents & carers for your attendance at Year 10 Parents’ Evening yesterday, there has been some hugely positive feedback for this cohort.

Thank you to Year 10 parents & carers for your attendance at Year 10 Parents’ Evening yesterday, there has been some hugely positive feedback for this cohort, and we are excited to see what they will be able to achieve in the year ahead. I know our Year 10 Geographers have also enjoyed some lovely weather, whilst off completing their GCSE fieldwork in and around the River Tillingbourne this week.

It was also a busy week for the PE Department, with several teams competing in athletics events throughout the week, which you can read more about in the year group sections below.

I must also thank the GLF Foundation who organised a charity cricket match for GLF students against the Lords & Commons Cricket Club. Four students from Rosebery School were invited to join the mixed team and journeyed to Blackheath Cricket Club in London – rubbing shoulders with some notable MPs and Lords yesterday afternoon. I know that Eve and Erin A in Year 10 particularly impressed the competition, especially given they are somewhat younger than some of the Lords, and I’m pleased to confirm that the GLF students came out on top – bagging a signed Rory Burns England shirt, as well as the glory!

Next week, the final week of this half term, is jam packed. We are excited to welcome our new Year 6 into 7 families to Rosebery for the first time on Tuesday, for their Transition Information Evening, and before that, we will have hosted some Year 6 students at our Small School Mixers, which some of you will remember fondly.

It’s also a crucial House Rounders tournament across Monday to Wednesday, as the race for the House Cup heats up, as well as the Year 8 Battlefields Trip on Wednesday, and Year 9 Graduation on Wednesday, which is followed by the Year 9 Bronze DofE Training Day on Thursday, ahead of their Practice Expedition on Friday.
